Five first-team players start as Corberan names strong XI for Leeds U23s v Barnsley
Carlos Corberan has named a very strong Leeds United Under-23s side to face Barnsley at the Oakwell Training Ground this afternoon.
The bad news is that there’s no Jean-Kevin Augustin, which means the striker must still be suffering from his hamstring issue.
However, there is an opportunity for Ian Poveda to prove his match fitness after being dropped from the last few first-team squads.
He’s had his quest for fitness hampered after recent Under-23s games were called off because of inclement weather.
The game today is the first outing for the Under-23s since the 1-1 draw against Wolves on February 21.
There are also starts for Barry Douglas, Jamie Shackleton, Gjanni Alioski and Tyler Roberts.

Leeds fans will know all about first-team players being used in the Under-23s but they would be forgiven for being a bit wary about Roberts starting.
With Augustin out with injury, Roberts is currently the only back-up for Patrick Bamford and the 20-year-old has already suffered from a string of injury problems this season.
If anything was to happen to him, Leeds would be relying purely on Bamford and he hasn’t delivered the most prolific returns this season.
