'Hugely vulnerable' – Exclusive: Paul Robinson makes predicition for Arsenal v Leeds FA Cup clash
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson thinks that Leeds United can beat Arsenal when they travel to the Emirates on Monday.
The FA Cup tie gives Marcelo Bielsa the chance to see how his side fares against the Premier League giants.
Arsenal have struggled this season but beat Man United 2-0 in their last game to move to 10th in the league.
Leeds travel to the Emirates as table toppers and are looking on course to win automatic promotion.
Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said, “I think you can’t read too much into cup ties as Arteta will field a changed team and test players. It’ll just be a great occasion for Leeds.
“Hopefully it’ll be a taste of what is to come next year and it’ll definitely test Leeds to see where they are at.
“And I do give them a real good chance as Arteta will change it up, maybe a couple of the big-hitters won’t play.
“I think they’re hugely vulnerable at the back and I think Leeds will have a real chance of scoring goals there. Leeds won’t be afraid, they’ll go and have a go. And I really think they have a chance of turning them over.”
The big question ahead of the match is whether Bielsa will name a strong line-up and use the game as a means of testing out his squad ahead of potential promotion.
The Championship is the priority for Leeds, though, and after a hectic festive period, there’s a good chance that Bielsa will make changes and rest key players.
The bookies don’t agree with Robinson and make Leeds 4/1 to spring an FA Cup shock, with Arsenal odds-on to progress.
