Early Leeds United team news v Arsenal confirmed by Jesse Marsch: Four players ruled out as Luis Sinisterra returns

Jesse Marsch has confirmed Leeds United will be without four players when they take on Arsenal at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon.

Stuart Dallas, Adam Forshaw, Leo Hjelde and Archie Gray will be absent due to injury issues.

However, there is good news for Leeds because Luis Sinisterra is available again after missing the loss at Crystal Palace due to a suspension while Junior Firpo is set to return from his latest injury setback.

“Forshaw surgery went well.

“Archie [Gray] on the pitch today feeling better, but not available.

“Stuart [Dallas] good progress.

” Bring him along with us with whatever we do in December. Part of the group then.

“Everyone else okay including Firpo.

Difficult

It’s been a long time since Leeds played a title-challenging Arsenal side.

However, Mikel Arteta’s men have put together quite the run of form so season with the Gunners currently sitting top of the Premier League table with eight wins and one defeat in nine games.

William Saliba, Granit Xhaka, Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus – as well as others – have all been outstanding for the North Londoners so far this term and they’ll take some stopping this weekend.

Leeds’ strong start to the season is over, unfortunately.

Marsch’s men will welcome the Gunners to Elland Road on Sunday (16 October) in the complete opposite form to Arsenal with no wins in their last five Premier League games.

Leeds’ last win came on 21 August when they thrashed Chelsea 3-0.

That result is something for fans to go by going into this game because clearly, there’s an ability among this squad to step up against the bigger teams in the division.

Let’s hope they can do it again this weekend but we have to admit, our expectations are low.
