Don Hutchison thrilled by Illan Meslier moment for Leeds v Fulham

Don Hutchison was left thrilled by Leeds United goalkeeper Illan Meslier against Fulham in the Carabao Cup this evening.

The Frenchman kept his spot in the side and made numerous saves as the home side started in relentless style without success.

One save caught the eye as Meslier clawed away a freekick, leaving Hutchison impressed with his bravery.

Speaking live on the BBC this evening, Hutchison was left impressed as Meslier made a number of decent saves.

“Brilliant save from Meslier to his left-hand side,” he raved.

“You have to be brave, have to be strong. Good save, it’s all about the footwork.”

Confidence.

After a slow start to the season conceding more goals than he would have liked, we are starting to see the best side of Meslier again.

The French sensation made numerous saves at St James’ Park in the draw against Newcastle on Friday evening and kept us in the game at some points.

Despite Kristoffer Klaesson travelling and likely wanting his debut, there is just no disrupting Meslier from that starting spot at this moment in time.

With saves such as this and his distribution of the ball, it is hard to think whenever that change will ever come without injuries or suspensions.

Meslier is the man at Elland Road for many years to come for the Whites, and no one will have any complaints with that – he is one of the brightest goalkeeping talents in Europe, and he continues to prove that.
