Diego Llorente nowhere to be seen as Leeds United squad arrives at Liverpool
Diego Llorente was nowhere to be seen as the Leeds United players arrived at Anfield ahead of playing Liverpool on Wednesday night.
Leeds’ official Twitter account uploaded footage of the squad making their way towards the dressing room ahead of their upcoming Premier League.
Llorente, 28, started against Manchester United on Sunday and didn’t have a great game. There’s been no news about an injury but if you watch the footage below, he’s not there.
Well, Marcelo Bielsa does have options if Llorente is actually absent.
Of course, there’s a chance that he’d already arrived before the cameraman started filming or he could have been a bit late.
However, if the injury-prone Spain international is missing then we could see Stuart Dallas move to right-back, Junior Firpo play at left-back and Luke Ayling join Pascal Struijk in the centre-back position.
Robin Koch suffered a head injury against Man United on Sunday so he’s been forced to sit this game out and Liam Cooper is a long-term absentee.
We feared for Leeds anyway ahead of this game and if the two centre-backs are Ayling and Struijk – we worry even more.
There are other options that could see Charlie Cresswell play at centre-back and Jamie Shackleton could also play at right-back if Bielsa wants Dallas to stay at left-back.
But either way, despite Llorente’s form, it wouldn’t be great if he’s been ruled out for any length of time.
In other Leeds United news, Jamie Carragher told this Leeds-linked man he’ll see him next season at Elland Road.
