‘Will definitely play’ – Pundit Exclusive: Leeds fans set for exciting news after U23 fireworks
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson has said that Pablo Hernandez is “definitely going to play” over Christmas after an impressive showing for the Under-23s on Sunday.
That display – in a 3-2 win over Aston Villa – seemingly put to bed any speculation that attacker might not have a future at the club after an alleged bust-up with Marcelo Bielsa.
And Robinson thinks that Leeds fans will see Hernandez as soon as Wednesday evening when Newcastle rock up to Elland Road.
Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News Robinson said, “Hernandez is definitely going to play over Christmas, without a shadow of a doubt.
“They’ve missed him since he’s been out. The disciplinary issue has seemingly been put to bed very quickly. And it looks like the injury was an injury and not a cover-up for anything else.
“To see his attitude in the Under-23s against Aston Villa and how well he played on Sunday was a great sign for everyone connected with Leeds.
“I think we’ll see him playing in midweek against Newcastle. He’s a player who can make a massive impact in any game”
It’s been a long road back for Hernandez since reacting badly to getting subbed off against Leicester.
He picked up an injury that kept him sidelined after the international break and Sunday for the Under-23s was the first time he’d got back on the pitch since.
He put in a brilliant 45 minutes that said to Leeds fans that any troubles with him and Marcelo Bielsa are now in the past.
