Danny Murphy labels Dominic Calvert-Lewin as a ‘bully’ after what he did against Wolves
Leeds boss Daniel Farke will be delighted with his team’s performance after they claimed an impressive 3-1 victory at Wolves.
The Whites went behind to an early strike from Ladislav Krejci, but they didn’t panic and replied with three first-half goals to take control of the game.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalised with a header, before a direct free-kick from Anton Stach and a slick counter-attack goal from Noah Okafor proved to be the difference.
All three goalscorers were summer signings who registered their first goals for the club in what was almost a perfect afternoon for Leeds.

Danny Murphy claims that Dominic Calvert-Lewin ‘bullied’ the Wolves defenders
Leeds fans will be excited to see Calvert-Lewin open his goalscoring account. There were a lot of questions and criticism surrounding the acquisition of the former Everton man, but he proved his doubters wrong in this match.
As well as scoring the equaliser, the former England international won the free-kick that Stach converted and was a menace to the Wolves defenders all afternoon.
Reviewing Calvert-Lewin’s goal for Match of the Day, pundit Danny Murphy was full of praise for the striker’s technique.
He said: “He just bullies them both. It’s a terrific header from Calvert-Lewin. It’s great for him to get his confidence up and relationship with the fans.”

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s form could be the key to a productive season for Leeds
Before this game, the main concern surrounding Leeds was their ruthlessness in front of goal. Although they had been solid defensively, they hadn’t scored from open play in their opening four Premier League games.
Leeds were far more clinical against Wolves on Saturday, and this may give their fans reason to be more optimistic about what their side can achieve this season.
- Daniel Farke has built a solid defence
- Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff have been controlling the midfield
- Now, it looks like they can begin to rely on Calvert-Lewin as a proven Premier League marksman.
Calvert-Lewin was behind all of their good attacking play at Molineux. His hold-up play and ability to bring other attackers into the game was a big reason why Leeds were able to take control of the game.
If he can keep up this form and rediscover the goalscoring touch he showed during his prime years at Everton, it could be an exciting season ahead.
