Danny Mills predicts Leeds United clash v Burnley in ‘Masters’ verdict
Leeds United face a tough task against defensive “masters” Burnley on Monday despite their array of attacking options, Danny Mills has said.
Speaking on talkSPORT (27 January, 7:43am), Mills predicted a difficult evening for the Whites as they cross the Pennines to face the Clarets at Turf Moor in a top-of-the-table Championship meeting.
Daniel Farke’s side have a chance to move six points clear of Burnley in third with a victory, but Mills argued that despite having eight “fantastic” forwards, the game will only feature one goal.
He said: “[It’s] going to be very, very difficult – Burnley [are] the masters of keeping clean sheets, aren’t they? Defensively very very solid, [a] tough game for both teams.
“Leeds have four forward players that are fantastic and can change those four for another four at any point. I think it’ll be tight, I think it could be 1-0 either way.”
Leeds United can make Championship statement v Burnley
Although the Whites sit top of the Championship after 28 games – a point clear of Sheffield United after their 3-0 defeat to Hull City – there remains a feeling in LS11 that Farke’s side still have another gear.
Mistakes at the back and poor execution at the other end have seen United give up points across several matches this season, with Illan Meslier alone costing them at least four against Sunderland and Hull.

The Peacocks’ home form has set them apart from any other side, with just seven points dropped from a possible 36 and 12 wins from 15 games with only one defeat – against Burnley in September.
As a result, and coming up against a side who’ve conceded just nine goals all season, United face arguably their most difficult task so far despite their position of strength at the summit.
Coming away from the impregnable Turf Moor with all three points would send a message to the rest of the Championship, and rubber-stamp Leeds’ credentials as the team to beat in this division.
In other Leeds news, the Whites have received mixed responses in their pursuits of three separate transfer targets.
