Daniel Storey savages Kiko Casilla & Marcelo Bielsa for Leeds decision v Saints
Marcelo Bielsa angered nearly the entirety of the Leeds United fanbase this evening by starting Kiko Casilla against Southampton.
The Spaniard is still disgraced for being found guilty of racial abuse last seasons and has only started twice in the Premier League.
Illan Meslier was dropped to the bench, with Bielsa confirming it will stay that way for the final game of the season against West Brom.
BBC Broadcaster Daniel Storey has destroyed that decision on his personal Twitter account and was left scratching his head just like many of the Elland Road faithful watching on.
“Why on earth do Bielsa and Leeds persist with this?” he wrote.
“Still no apology for racism, the vast majority of supporters hate the idea of Kiko Casilla playing. It’s such a huge misstep.”
Huge misstep.
This has hit the nail on the head.
We still can’t get our heads around this one, and the decision making behind why Casilla was handed yet another start for the Whites.
Casilla made some decent saves but was shocking with his distribution and he could have been world-class, but we still wouldn’t want to see it.
Meslier must be massively angered sitting on the bench and watching on, he has passed his senior teammate in the rankings, and by some distance.
We hope Bielsa rethinks this decision, with a crowd backlash a real possibility at Elland Road in our final day clash with West Brom, although no one wishes that on anyone.
