Daniel James spotted limping as Leeds United injury worry detailed in win v Swansea City

Danny Mills spotted Daniel James limping as Leeds United beat Swansea 3-1 at Elland Road in the Championship on Wednesday night.

James, 26, wasn’t substituted after the talkSPORT pundit saw the Wales international hobbling around the pitch in West Yorkshire and he eventually went on to score Leeds’ third goal.

Mills believes losing the ex-Swansea winger to injury would be a big blow for the Whites.

Leeds United winger Dan James

“Keep an eye on Dan James, he’s limping a little bit,” Mills said on talkSPORT 2 on Wednesday night (29 November, 07:57pm).

“I don’t know if he’s taken a little knock or something but we’ll see what happens with that. Leeds certainly don’t want to lose him.

“The pace he and [Crysencio] Summerville have really causes problems for defenders.”

Time for a rest?

James has played a lot of football this season.

He’s started 13 out of the Whites’ 18 Championship matches and has also played regularly for Wales over the last two international breaks.

Unfortunately, he’s been in good form, with three goals in four games before playing against his former club Swansea on Wednesday night so it won’t be an easy decision to drop him.

However, Daniel Farke may need to rest James for this weekend’s clash with Middlesbrough at Elland Road.

It’s going to be a tough, gruelling December for the West Yorkshire club so if Farke can rotate his players, he should.

He has plenty of options to play out wide with Jaidon Anthony, Ian Poveda and Willy Gnonto all on the bench for the Swansea game and capable of replacing James in the starting line-up.

It might be good to give James a few minutes at the end of games if he is ever subbed off as his pace can be destructive late on in a game on a cold December night.

In other Leeds United news, a multi-million Elland Road development could be “fatal” in the EFL.
