Daniel James amazes Sky Sports pundit with what he did in Leeds win v Stoke
Don Goodman hailed Daniel James for his “brilliant” assist for Joel Piroe’s second goal as Leeds United saw off Stoke City 2-0.
James put a chance on a plate for Piroe to double his and Leeds’ tally just after the hour mark in Thursday’s (26 December) clash at bet365 Stadium.
The Wales international burst past Eric Bocat and scooped the ball towards the back post for Piroe to convert past Viktor Johansson.
Speaking live on Sky Sports Main Event [26 December, 9:27pm], Goodman said: “What’s really clinical about this is that [James] stays composed, lifts his head up and knows Piroe is there.
“It’s the easiest goal Piroe will score this season. It’s brilliant from Daniel James.”
Daniel James stepping up for Leeds United
James was superb against Stoke City as he registered more key passes (four) than any other play on the field, despite being subbed off after 76 minutes.
One of those chances was the assist for Piroe’s goal, which took the game out of Stoke’s reach after a brief spell on top.
Leeds were pretty comfortable winners in the end in difficult conditions and end Boxing Day top of the Championship standings.
As for James, he now has three assists to go with his five goals in 16 Championship appearances this season.

The former Manchester United player has been directly involved in six goals in his past eight appearances, making him one of the most important players in the squad.
Hopefully the Welshman can maintain this form now, with games against Derby County and Blackburn Rovers to come either side of the New Year.
In other Leeds United news, a player’s future may now be certain amid a transfer development.
