Daniel James amazes Sky Sports pundit with what he did in Bristol City 0-0 Leeds United

Chris Iwelumo was blown away by Dan James for Leeds United as the forward produced an “outstanding” moment against Bristol City.

The 26-year-old started his first match for the Whites since returning from a long-term hamstring injury in the 0-0 draw at Ashton Gate on Saturday [26 October].

Iwelumo was impressed by one particular moment live on Sky Sports [26 October, 1:42pm] as the forward went close to orchestrating the opening goal.

James found Wilfried Gnonto unmarked in the penalty area, only to see his strike cleared off the goal-line by Zak Vyner.

Iwelumo said: “Well, it’s excellent play isn’t it from Leeds? You’ve got Jayden Bogle driving forward, the weighted pass for Dan James is excellent – the touch – this little cutback [from James], outstanding.”

James saw his afternoon cut short on 70 minutes as he was replaced by Manor Solomon but the forward can hold his head up high after his full return to the side.

Unfortunately, the Whites lacked the clinical edge at Ashton Gate against a stubborn Bristol City backline and James created the only noteworthy chance for the visitors.

While the visitors and Gnonto will feel the three points have been squandered in the race for automatic promotion, Daniel Farke can still leave the South West with plenty of positives to take back to Elland Road.

Bogle recovered from a non-existent performance in the first half to play a crucial role in his side’s only chance of the game and was solid throughout the final 45 minutes.
