Daniel Farke touchline moment stuns Sky pundit in Leeds draw v Preston
Andy Hinchcliffe was in disbelief at Daniel Farke’s “terrible” body language in the Leeds United dugout during the 1-1 draw against Preston North End.
The Whites travelled to Deepdale on Saturday [14 December] aiming to pile further pressure on Sheffield United at the top of the Championship table, but were thwarted by a 23rd-minute Ben Potts strike.
While Mateo Joseph salvaged a point in the 93rd minute, Hinchcliffe couldn’t help but notice Farke’s reaction during the first half live on Sky Sports [14 December, 1:06pm] as the Whites boss watched on from the bench with his arms folded.
He said: “His body language is terrible. He is not happy.”
Leeds United shocking v Preston North End
Farke needs to end the trend of taking one step forward and two steps back at Leeds.
Every time the Whites look in a position to leapfrog Sheffield United to lead the Championship table, they fall at the final hurdle.
Preston headed into the contest in 14th place and, even after this result, are 18 points behind Leeds in the league table and yet the visitors had no answer to breach the Lilywhites’ defence.
It took one counter-attacking opportunity for Potts to convert the opener, and the attack itself was nothing short of a comedy of errors by the Whites.
Joe Rothwell blindly walked into a barrage of Preston defenders in the opposition penalty area before Pascal Struijk was bypassed far too easily by Milutin Osmajic, who played the ball across the face of the goal with Jayden Bogle in no man’s land.

Illan Meslier failed to deal with the effort fired straight at him in yet another blunder in the Leeds goal, and he will should be eternally grateful to Joseph for his part in the late own goal.
While Farke sitting slumped in the dugout sends a poor message to his players, his body language sums up the feelings of the supporters who made the trip to Lancashire.
Leeds were not good enough on the day and were rightfully punished – Sheffield United can now open up a three-point gap on their Yorkshire Rivals against Plymouth Argyle.
In other Leeds United news, Preston was guilty of a major Josuha Guilavogui blunder before the clash against the Whites.
