Daniel Farke throws one Leeds United player under the bus after Man United draw

Leeds United drew 1-1 with Manchester United at Elland Road but Daniel Farke was left frustrated at full-time.

Brenden Aaronson put Leeds ahead on the hour mark, latching onto Jaka Bijol’s long ball and slotting past Senne Lammens in the Man United goal.

Ruben Amorim’s side hit straight back though, with Matheus Cunha levelling the scores just three minutes later.

Leeds have extended their Premier League unbeaten run to seven games, but Farke felt that one of his players had cost his side all three points.

Daniel Farke criticises Lucas Perri

Lucas Perri was called out for his poor distribution in the first half against Man United, but he made a far more costly error after the break.

Moments after Leeds had gone ahead, Cunha was slipped through on goal, and Perri opted to run out and close the angle.

However, the Brazilian shot-stopper ended up leaving the far corner open, and the Man United forward made no mistake with the finish.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Farke singled out Perri, criticising his decision-making for the equaliser.

When asked about the manner of Cunha’s goal, Farke said: “Yes, of course it’s disappointing.

“Normally I don’t like to speak about individual mistakes, but it was obvious. Lucas took the wrong decision, he came off his line. If he stays on his line then there’s probably not even a chance because Cunha was running away from the goal.

“If that happens, we probably would have won this game. But, not a problem. We win together, we lose together.”

Will Daniel Farke drop Lucas Perri?

Given Farke’s scathing criticism of Perri’s mistake against Man United, he could be considering a change between the sticks for Leeds’ trip to Newcastle United on Wednesday.

There is no doubt that the Elland Road faithful are nervous whenever the Brazilian shot-stopper has the ball at his feet, given the poor quality of his distribution.

If shot-stopping errors are now starting to creep into Perri’s game, then Farke may be forced to take him out of the firing line.

The German boss could turn to Karl Darlow, who has already played five Premier League games earlier this season.

Darlow filled in while Perri was out injured, but was dropped back down to the bench in October when the summer signing returned to fitness.

Farke now has a big decision to make, as he doesn’t want his goalkeeper to be costing his side valuable points.
