Daniel Farke out to end worrying Leeds United record vs Aston Villa

Leeds United have not won against Aston Villa in the Premier League since 2020.

Leeds suffered a 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest before the Premier League paused for the international break.

Daniel Farke has come under increasing pressure at Leeds as the club edges dangerously close to the relegation zone.

The Whites are 16th in the Premier League, with just one point between West Ham and Leeds, who are 18th.

As a result, securing all three points against Unai Emery’s side on Sunday will be more important than ever.

Daniel Farke has dire record to overcome

Leeds have failed to win against Villa in the Premier League since a 3-0 victory in October 2023.

This is a record Farke will be hoping to end when the two sides meet on 23 November.

Speculation on Farke’s potential sack at Leeds has been rife given their recent form, and as a result, a win at home will mean more than just three points for the Whites’ head coach.

Otherwise, the Whites could stumble upon very uncertain times in the Premier League without acceptable results and perhaps even without a manager.

The odds are not in Leeds’ favour

Leeds have won just one of their last five Premier League games this season.

For reference, Villa have triumphed in four of their last five first division games this period.

Leeds’ recent defeat to Forest was their second in their last two games, and a defeat at Elland Road would make it back-to-back losses for Farke’s side.

This would be the first time the Whites would achieve such an unwanted feat this season.

There is no doubt that this would add to the uncertainty around Farke’s future at Leeds. However, a win against Villa would certainly calm the storm for a little while longer.

Therefore, Farke will want and desperately need to not only claim all three points but produce a convincing victory on Sunday.
