Daniel Farke has eight-year record to protect in Leeds United vs Nottingham Forest

Daniel Farke is feeling the pressure at Leeds United, after just one win in the Whites’ last five Premier League games.

Leeds were smashed 3-0 by Brighton on Saturday, with Danny Welbeck and Diego Gomez grabbing the goals for the home side.

Farke‘s side had come into the game off the back of an encouraging victory over West Ham, but never really looked like laying a glove on Brighton.

On Sunday, Leeds will take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, in the hopes of gaining momentum ahead of a difficult run of fixtures.

Nottingham Forest are heavy favourites to beat Leeds, however, despite not having won a Premier League game since the middle of August.

Daniel Farke has strong history vs Nottingham Forest

Farke is expected to make a couple of changes against Nottingham Forest, with his side crying out for invention in the final third.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin started up top against Brighton, but took just one shot throughout the 90 minutes, with Leeds creating very little.

It was a similar line-up from Farke, who opted to start Ao Tanaka, Sean Longstaff, and Ethan Ampadu in the midfield, leaving Brendan Aaronson and Noah Okafor isolated on the wings.

Defensive security is among the German’s highest priorities, but there was little of it, and Calvert-Lewin was left to feed off scraps.

Farke may well push the boat out in an attacking sense for the trip to the City Ground, with the 49-year-old boasting an impressive record against Nottingham Forest.

In six games against the Tricky Trees that Farke oversaw in charge of Norwich City, his side lost just once, and won three of the five games played since 2017.

Leeds United have less impressive record vs Nottingham Forest

While Farke may have an impressive individual record against Nottingham Forest, his team does not.

The last match played between the two came in 2023, when Jack Harrison and Luis Sinisterra scored to hand Javi Gracia‘s team a 2-1 victory at Elland Road.

But of the 16 games played between Leeds and Nottingham Forest before that day, the Whites won just twice.

It will be a game in which the pressure is really on Farke to secure three points, however, with crunch matches against Aston Villa, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool on the horizon.
