Daniel Farke furious on touchline after what happened in Leeds United loss v Millwall

Daniel Farke was furious with the amount of added time after Millwall’s timewasting antics as Leeds United lost 1-0 at The Den on Wednesday.

The Lions took the lead through Japhet Tangana moments before the half-time whistle on 6 November, proceeding to their time over throw-ins and set-pieces to wind down the clock.

This clearly got to the Leeds manager, who voiced his opinion about Millwall’s tactics to the fourth official before being “amazed” by only four minutes being added on at the end of 90 minutes.

Writing for LeedsLive [7 November], Beren Cross said: “As early as the 58th minute, Daniel Farke could be seen pointing to his watch in the air for the referee’s attention.

“Millwall were noticeably taking as long as possible every time the ball went dead, which is their prerogative in the circumstances. When the board went up with four extra minutes at the end, Farke was furious with the fourth official and amazed how little had been added on.”

Leeds United miss chance to capitalise in Championship title race

With Sunderland drawing their away match to Preston North End, Leeds missed their opportunity to move within just one point of the top of the Championship table.

While Millwall’s time-wasting antics will have caused frustration for Farke and his staff, the team created more than enough chances to break the deadlock at The Den.

The Whites had been in brilliant form up until their visit to London, going on an eight-game unbeaten streak and defeating the likes of Sheffield United, Watford and Coventry City in that time.

Of course, after just one defeat, alarm bells should not be ringing at all just yet, with only four points separating Leeds from the summit of the Championship table.

Leeds have a chance to enter into the international break on a positive note as they welcome QPR to Elland Road on Saturday 9 November, but a defeat here would raise a few questions for Farke to answer.

In other Leeds United news, one dud has nowhere to hide after his 10% Millwall display, which could see him dropped versus QPR.
