Daniel Farke blunder could cost Leeds United as Glen Kamara XI decision made v Blackburn Rovers
Daniel Farke will hope his decision to drop Glen Kamara from the starting XI will not backfire as Leeds United face Blackburn Rovers on Saturday (13 April).
The Finland international has been a regular figure in the Whites team this season, having only missed eight league matches so far, starting 32 of 42, though his performances have gone under the radar somewhat.
He has created a formidable partnership with Ilia Gruev, who are both extremely comfortable on the ball, adding an extra layer of protection to the backline and providing good service for the attacking players.
Kamara adds stability to the middle of the park like no other player at Elland Road, and his 93 per cent pass accuracy will certainly be missed. [FotMob]
Of course, Illan Meslier keeps his place, with Connor Roberts starting at right-back and Junior Firpo on the opposite flank, confirmed as Leeds took to X to announce their lineup for the fixture at Elland Road on Saturday (13 April).
Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu remain as the centre-back partnership, meaning Archie Gray has been moved back into his favourite midfield role alongside Gruev, with Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter keeping their places.
Wilfried Gnonto will be a welcome return to the team, replacing Dan James, while Patrick Bamford is replaced by Joel Piroe in attack, with Farke making three changes from the 0-0 stalemate against Sunderland on Tuesday 9 April.
Leeds United must return to winning ways against Blackburn Rovers without Glen Kamara
Leeds will be hoping to take advantage of Leicester City’s surprise 1-0 loss to Plymouth Argyle on Friday (12 April), with a victory taking Farke’s men to the top of the Championship table.
With automatic promotion at stake, Leeds must ensure they return to winning ways after a couple of disappointing results, including a 2-1 loss to Coventry City followed by a 0-0 draw against Sunderland at Elland Road.
Though Blackburn are just three points above the Championship relegation zone, the Whites will need to be wary of Sammie Szmodics, who has netted 29 goals in all competitions.
