Daniel Farke and Leeds issue brought into focus amid reveal pre-Brentford

Daniel Farke and Leeds will be concerned about their clash with Brentford on Sunday afternoon.

Farke has solidified his place in the Leeds dugout after brilliant performances against Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool, which earned the Whites a surprise four-point haul.

However, the Bees represent a much different type of opposition as they will not be as expansive as the aforementioned teams.

In fact, one particular aspect of their game will give the Elland Road outfit nightmares ahead of the clash at the G-Tech Community Stadium on 14 December.

Why Leeds must be wary as Brentford top Premier League metric

Leeds will have to deal with Igor Thiago’s presence, but they will also have to deal with a unique strategy from Keith Andrews’ side.

The Bees are the top-ranked side in the Premier League when it comes to shots taken from throw-in situations, with 28, per Sofascore.

They are also top of the crop when it comes to goals scored from those scenarios, with three goals, and their reliance on set-pieces has earned a lot of praise recently.

The Bees have a clear advantage.

Meanwhile, the Whites have had 13 shots from throw-ins, which is the fifth-best amount in the division, and scored none, which ranks joint-tenth, with the 11 other teams that have not scored from them.

That is a concerning factor for the newly-promoted side, and they will have to pay extra attention if they give away throw-ins.

Leeds should be prepared for Brentford test

Most teams would be a lot more concerned about Andrews’ side and their imposing style of play.

However, the Whites prepared for that in the summer, by signing a lot of big, physical players in the transfer window.

The likes of Jaka Bijol, Anton Stach and Sebastian Bornauw were signed to add that aspect to the Peacocks’ squad, and give them the edge when it comes to these kinds of battles.

Whether they can actually combat it successfully remains to be seen, but that will be the key when it comes to securing all three points.

The LS11 side have gotten very good results lately, but it will mean nothing if they cannot beat the teams around them.

They need to start doing that, and West London would be a good place to start for Farke and Co.
