Leeds United under-23s finished their Premier League 2 Division 2 campaign with a 5-2 victory against Burnley on Monday afternoon.
It wasn’t all plain sailing though at Thorp Arch, and there were some moments of controversy throughout.
The young Whites were handed yet another penalty in the second half, and it led to a spat between Sam Greenwood and Crysencio Summerville; with the latter even being booked.
Speaking on LUTV’s live commentary of the game, Tom Hill and Ben Parker were far from impressed with what they saw from the Dutch sensation.
“Don’t like to see this,” they reacted.
It was all swept under the carpet quickly after though, with Greenwood firing home two penalties, and Summerville also getting his name on the scoresheet in the rout.
We all want to see passion, and this under-23s squad is full of young superstars looking to push their name into contention for the first-team.
Summerville and Greenwood featured on the bench together in the Premier League against Manchester United at Elland Road last week.
This attacking duo are destined for the top, and Marcelo Bielsa will have been happy to see their passion to get on the scoresheet.
Thankfully, it didn’t go too far and the booking was probably just so the game wasn’t halted for two long while these two decided who was taking the spot-kick.
Summerville got over this one quickly, and was a constant nightmare for the Burnley defence who have had to watch him score four goals past them this season; they won’t miss him.
