Cooper and Dallas sign new long-term deals
You wait an age for one Leeds player to sign a new long-term deal and then another two come along at once.
Kalvin Phillips was the first to sign on the dotted line when he agreed a long-awaited five-year deal with Leeds earlier this week.
Now Leeds have announced that Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas have signed new deals, with Cooper committing until 2024 and Dallas until 2023.
That’s just rewards for a solid start to the season for both players, with Dallas especially impressing in right-back after filling in a number of different roles for Marcelo Bielsa.
Dallas was out of contract at the end of this season and had expressed a wish to stay at Leeds saying his future was in the club’s hands.
He scored in the Championship game against Stoke and will be getting more action in the coming weeks with the news that Luke Ayling is out for at least another month.
Talking in the Yorkshire Evening Post, Cooper said, “I’m absolutely delighted. Me and my family are over the moon and what a way to do it with my best mate as well. It’s a bit of a coincidence but as soon as Leeds wanted to extend my stay it was a no-brainer for me.”
