Confirmed Leeds starting XI v West Ham

Leeds United have made one change to their starting XI for their Premier League clash against West Ham United on Monday evening.

Marcelo Bielsa has decided to bring back Kalvin Phillips in place of Pascal Struijk, who will miss the game due to an injury problem.

Confirmed on their Twitter account prior to kick-off, Rodrigo is only fit enough for a spot on the bench after his under-23s cameo.

The big news beforehand was the fitness of Phillips and Rodrigo.

With the Spaniard the only one to feature for the under-23s on Friday, many assumed only he would make the trip to the London Stadium out of the pair.

That changed when the Yorkshire Pirlo was spotted among the travelling party taking the train up to the capital on Sunday afternoon.

This is a huge boost for the Whites, with it being no secret that they are much better with Phillips in their side, just look at the recent record.

Leeds will be looking to bounce back from that disappointing 1-0 defeat against Aston Villa, where that early goal completely killed the game.

West Ham have clearly become more adventurous this season, and there won’t be much chance of them approaching the game with the same style.

The Irons can go fifth in the Premier League with a win, and the Whites must use this as their motivation to upset the apple cart at the top of the league.
