Two players back from injury, Poveda on bench – Confirmed Leeds starting XI v Fulham

It’s finally here, the game that we’ve been waiting over three months for and Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed his Leeds United starting XI for the game v Fulham at Elland Road.

The headline news is that Pablo Hernandez is fit but only makes the bench, with Tyler Roberts starting for the second successive game.

It means it’s the same starting XI that lost 2-0 to Cardiff.

Ian Poveda is on the bench again for Leeds after making his first-team debut last week and Barry Douglas is also back from injury and named as a substitute after missing the Cardiff game.

The team news was announced on the official Leeds United Twitter page ahead of the 3pm kick-off.

We were hoping that Hernandez would be fit enough to start but we’re happy to see him back and hopefully able to make an impact if needed.

Bielsa also has Poveda to call on after he looked so bright and sharp last week.

The real issue is goals. Patrick Bamford needs to step up and get back on the scoring trail after blanking last week.

It’s not just down to him, though. Jack Harrison and Helder Costa should be chipping in with more goals.

But, after such a long wait, it’s almost time then. And it’s pretty much as it was back then, with Leeds able to move ten points clear of Fulham with a win. That would be absolutely massive and what we’re predicting with a very optimistic 3-1 win.
