Marcelo Bielsa has announced his Leeds United starting XI for the Premier League clash against Crystal Palace on Monday evening.

Rodrigo and Ian Poveda have joined Diego Llorente and Robin Koch on the treatment table.

There are no new injury issues, though, and Bielsa has named the same starting XI as the one he put out against Everton last week.

The exciting news is that Joe Gelhardt (Joffy) is among the subs for the first time since signing for Leeds last summer.

Pablo Hernandez is not even on the bench and we’ll be waiting for an update on him from Marcelo Bielsa after the game.

The team news was posted on the official Leeds United Twitter page ahead of the 8pm kick-off.

Time for revenge

The 4-1 defeat against Crystal Palace in the reverse fixture still rankles with us.

Palace might have shaded it but it wasn’t a 4-1 game, as proved by the xG stats from Understat.

The main problem for Leeds last time around was Wilfred Zaha and he’s missing with a hamstring injury tonight.

That blunts the Palace arsenal on the break and we’re convinced that’s how Roy Hodgson is going to set up his side again tonight.

In the absence of Zaha, Eberechi Eze is going to be the danger man.

However, without Zaha, we’re confident of getting the three points which would take us above Arsenal and to within two wins of safety with 16 games remaining.

That would be a pretty epic achievement.
