Cooper & Phillips start, Greenwood on bench – Confirmed Leeds team news v Crawley

Leeds United have made seven changes to their starting XI for the FA Cup third-round clash against Crawley Town on Sunday.

Marcelo Bielsa has called upon the likes of Sam Greenwood, who have made it onto the bench to potentially make their debuts.

Confirmed on Twitter prior to kick-off, the Whites have kept the likes of Kalvin Phillips in their side with Liam Cooper also returning from injury.

Bielsa confirmed in his press conference before the game that his side would be made up of experienced players, and that is shown in his side.

Pablo Hernandez has impressed coming off the bench in the Premier League in recent weeks, and his reward is starting against League Two opposition.

It is the Spaniard’s first start since his falling out with Bielsa months ago, and hopefully, that is long forgotten and El Mago can continue to play a massive role this season.

This is the first sign that the Whites are taking the FA Cup seriously, and that is something that should get us, the fans, excited.

Leeds haven’t got past the third round since Bielsa arrived at the club, failing against both Queens Park Rangers and Arsenal.

With more squad depth available to the club, could this be the year that the Whites finally target this competition as a chance of silverware?
