Struijk starts as Llorente & Cooper miss out – Confirmed Leeds starting XI v Burnley

Leeds United have made one change to their starting XI for the Premier League clash against Burnley at Elland Road.

Marcelo Bielsa has brought back Pascal Struijk into the side to partner Luke Ayling in defence against the Clarets

Confirmed on Twitter prior to kick-off, the Whites will have to be without Diego Llorente who misses out completely despite returning to training this week.

One change was always going to be enforced on Sunday.

Liam Cooper was ruled out of action after picking up an abdominal strain in the heavy defeat against Manchester United last weekend.

Apart from that, the Whites shouldn’t have any other problems facing them.

Bielsa confirmed the boost that Llorente had recovered from his groin strain, but we will likely have to wait until the West Brom clash to see him again.

Leeds United

Leeds know they need to win the games against the teams around them, and this clash followed by West Brom on Tuesday are both critical.

Six points would create a significant gap to the relegation zone, but losing to the Clarets today would put them one point behind us with a game-in-hand.

The longer the likes of Sheffield United, Fulham, West Brom and Brighton continue to fail, the better, but we must keep putting points on the board at the same time.

That starts today.
