Confirmed Leeds starting XI v Ajax

Leeds United have named a strong side to take on Ajax in the first of two games this afternoon.

The Whites will also play what looks like the Eredivisie’s first team this evening at the Johann Cruijff Arena.

Confirmed on Twitter prior to kick-off, Marcelo Bielsa has named a number of first-team stars in his side.

The big news is that Kalvin Phillips returning from his holiday after reaching the EURO 2020 final.

Liam Cooper also hands the Whites a big boost by starting in defence despite concerns over his availability this month.

As well as those two, Adam Forshaw, Helder Costa, Tyler Roberts and Ian Poveda will also start from the first team.

Under-23s stars will also be looking to catch the eye.

Sam Greenwood and Cody Drameh are the closest to making the jump up and will want to shine against Ajax in order to do just that.

Leeds have partnered with LiveNow to show their pre-season games, but they will charge you a fee to do just that.

Thankfully, this first game of the day in Holland has been made available for free, and it can also be watched on the official Twitter and Facebook pages of the Whites.

We are looking forward to watching a blend of youth and experience in this one, and we should be strong favourites given that Ajax have gone for their academy side.

The tables will likely turn later for them, but Bielsa will have another strong side ready for the so-called main event – we can’t wait for a full day of football, bring it on.
