Confirmed Leeds starting XI & team news v Brighton

Leeds United have made two changes to their starting XI for their Premier League clash against Brighton on Saturday afternoon.

Marcelo Bielsa has drafted in Robin Koch and Mateusz Klich in place of Kalvin Phillips and Helder Costa who both miss out from the side that drew 0-0 with Manchester United on Sunday.

Confirmed on their club website prior to kick-off the club revealed that influential midfielder Phillips was “unable to make the squad today”.

A change was always likely on the wing with Costa hobbling off injured against Manchester United last Sunday after a heavy challenge by Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Raphinha is still out injured while captain Liam Cooper serves the final game of his three-match ban for a red card at Manchester City on April 10.

Under-23s star Cody Drameh is on the bench for the first time.

Revenge

El Loco and his charges will surely be eager to avenge one of the most disappointing games of our Premier League season today.

The reverse fixture saw us lose 1-0 to the Seagulls courtesy of a Neal Maupay goal as we huffed and puffed without ever creating tonnes of clear-cut chances.

Brighton might be hovering around the relegation zone but they’re a tough nut to crack, as evidenced in the measly 39 goals they have given up so far this season – only seven Premier League sides have conceded fewer.

But we’re on a roll after six games unbeaten, four of which came against last season’s top four, so we should be heading into this clash with supreme confidence.

A win at the Amex Stadium would push us to within two points of eighth-placed Everton and increase our outside chances of bringing European football back to Elland Road next season.
