Chris Sutton taunts Leeds United fans after massive win v Liverpool
Chris Sutton has aimed a dig at Leeds United fans after the Whites won 2-1 against Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League league on Saturday (29 October).
Rodrigo opened the scoring for the Whites early, but Mohamed Salah’s goal canceled it out in the first half. In the dying minutes of the match, Crysencio Summerville scored a brilliant goal to seal all three points for Jesse Marsch’s side.
Marsch was under huge pressure following Leeds’ poor form, and there were even suggestions that Marcelo Bielsa’s impact is fresh in the memory of the fan base.
Via Twitter, Sutton wrote: “Are Leeds fans singing for Bielsa tonight?”
The away fans have been superb at Anfield, and you could see the reactions from the players and the fans after Summerville scored the winner.
The Whites failed to win a game since August and Marsch was under huge pressure.
The club showed great faith in their manager, and they weren’t ready to press the panic button.
However, a huge performance was needed, and securing a victory at Anfield is massive.
In the second half, Liverpool attacked the Kop end, and they created countless chances. There was hardly any time for a breather. It was an intense game.
Leeds fans adore Marcelo Bielsa, and that’s a fact. It’s not easy to forget about a club icon easily, and therefore the Argentine comes in obvious comparison.
However, the club have shown enormous faith in Marsch. The Whites can now breath a sigh of relief, and start working with renewed optimism to pick more points before the World Cup break.
In other Leeds United news, Jeff Stelling claims this world-class manager would want to be the next Whites manager if Marsch is sacked.
