Chris Sutton takes aim at Leeds over shirts incident v Liverpool

Leeds United made the headlines before their Premier League clash against Liverpool on Monday Night Football.

The Whites created warm-up shirts that told clubs to “earn” their Champions League spots, and even-handed some to the Reds, who refused to wear them.

Jurgen Klopp was angered by that gesture, after admitting he and his players knew nothing about the proposed European Super League.

One pundit who has hit back at that decision is Chris Sutton, who has claimed it is unfair that sides are being targeted when sharing his verdict on his personal Twitter account.

“It’s really unfair for the Liverpool players and Jurgen Klopp to be slaughtered for a decision taken by their owners,” he wrote.

Yawn.

We knew this was going to happen.

Everything was taken away from what was happening on the pitch at Elland Road, as the European Super League takes centre-stage, which is what they want.

The Whites were trying to take a stand, and although the message came across, it angered some, including Liverpool, and likely gave more eyes to the new competition.

It is all about greed and money, and if we have our own way, this has to be stopped immediately, no matter how or what does that.

Sutton is instantly supporting those behind the idea when not going against the proposal, even if he didn’t mean to, and we need people to speak out and use their platforms for the good, not for pointless verdicts.
