Bielsa makes one change, striker not in squad – Confirmed Leeds starting XI v Middlesbrough
Leeds United have confirmed that Marcelo Bielsa has made one change to his starting line-up for the clash against Middlesbrough at The Riverside on Wednesday night.
Kiko Casilla and Kalvin Phillips both picked up knocks in the 1-0 win over Reading at the weekend and while the former has been passed fit, Phillips has not.
Gaetano Berardi has come in for Phillips after missing out on the squad altogether at the weekend. It seems that Ben White will move forward into Phillips’ defensive midfield role.
Elsewhere in the squad, Jean-Kevin Augustin is nowhere to be seen having failed to make the bench.
Leeds announced the team news via their official Twitter account ahead of kick-off on Teesside.
Leeds will be hoping to take yet another major stride towards securing automatic promotion to the Premier League when they take on Boro.
Bielsa’s men have won their last two matches 1-0 in two massively improved performances that have got fans hoping for the best once again.
If Fulham fail to beat Swansea on Wednesday night and Leeds win over Middlesbrough then the Whites could move six points clear of third place and close down to the gap to leaders West Brom to four points.
Middlesbrough are in woeful form and have not won a Championship match since New Years Day.
Let’s hope that this team that Bielsa has named is strong enough to earn all three points over Jonathan Woodgate’s struggling Boro.
In other Leeds United news, there has been a major update on Bielsa’s future at Elland Road.
