Bryn Law stunned by ‘bizarre’ moment in Coventry v Leeds United

Bryn Law was left baffled by what happened in the buildup to Leeds United’s second goal of the game as they played Coventry at the CBS Arena.

The Whites started the game emphatically, taking the lead through Joel Piroe who finished magnificently after a neat through ball by Manor Solomon, but it was the second goal that left Law stunned.

Jayden Bogle found himself in an advanced position, driving forward with the ball before seemingly overrunning it into the hands of the Coventry keeper, only for him to spill the ball straight back into the past of Bogle to tap into an empty net, baffling Law.

Commentating via LUTV (5 February) Law said: “Well that is one of the more bizarre goals and we’ve seen a lot of goals recently.

“He just kept going and going and it kind of opened up in front of him and then it was trolled back into his path it appeared.”

Leeds United deserving of all three points

While there was certainly an element of fortune about their second of the night, the Whites certainly deserved all three points as they retain their place at the summit of the Championship, regardless of this weekend’s results.

Daniel Farke’s side once again showed their quality in attack while limiting the amount of threat posed by Coventry with their solid defensive lineup.

Illan Meslier spent the majority of the game as a spectator and will probably be quite thankful he wasn’t the one responsible for a goalkeeping howler on this occasion.

The key for Leeds is to maintain their consistency and if they can do that, very few teams if any at all will be able to keep up with them in the race for promotion.

As it stands, the Whites sit five points clear at the top of the Championship, albeit those teams below them have a game in hand.

In other Leeds United, Coventry made a series of blunders prior to the clash this evening.
