Brenden Aaronson everywhere, 5/10 is real issue – Leeds player ratings vs Man United

Leeds battled to another positive result in their 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Sunday, but they will definitely see it as a chance missed.

Daniel Farke made a couple of changes to his Leeds side at Elland Road, with the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin coming in from the start.

Jayden Bogle has picked up an injury, which kept him out of the squad fully, with Sean Longstaff returning to the bench after weeks out.

Calvert-Lewin hit the post with a diving header in the first half, with both sides not doing enough to force the matter in LS11.

It certainly turned up a notch in the second half, with Brenden Aaronson opening the scoring, only for Matheus Cunha to equalise within minutes.

Brenden Aaronson everywhere at Elland Road

Aaronson has been on somewhat of a redemption arc at Leeds.

There will always be some questionable decisions on the ball from the American, possibly holding onto it for too long, but his hard work and tenacity are so valuable.

Ayden Heaven was ball-watching from a clearance, but Aaronson wasn’t, and he latched onto it with speed before smashing home with his left foot.

He was everywhere on and off the ball, and was a deserved man of the match.

Lucas Perri issues continue

Perri has faced his problems since arriving at Leeds from Lyon, but one thing is clear.

The Brazilian made a great save to deny Lenny Yoro, but then continued to let himself down with his distribution, frequently finding the crowd under no pressure.

When Cunha did score for the visitors, Perri appeared to be in no-man’s land, with the defence not deep enough either to make it a bit of a mess.

Farke has backed the Brazilian over Karl Darlow after his return from injury, and it is down to him to repay the faith in the second half of the season.
