Blackburn Rovers v Leeds United – Sam Byram update emerges
Leeds United defender Sam Byram has not been seen with the squad ahead of the game against Blackburn Rovers.
LeedsLive journalist Beren Cross shared the footage of the team arriving off the bus and Byram, who was an injury doubt, was not seen.
However, Junior Firpo was spotted with the team so he will be in line to play at Ewood Park on 30 November.
Via X, Cross wrote: “No Byram. Firpo here.”
Leeds United need the three points against Blackburn Rovers
An early start is crucial for Leeds in their match against Blackburn as it will set a psychological advantage by showing intent and dominance from the get go, potentially unsettling the hosts.
This can lead to an early goal, which not only gives Leeds a lead but also forces Blackburn into a position where they must chase the game, often leading them to make tactical errors or overextend, creating more opportunities for Leeds.
An early goal or a strong opening performance can enhance their confidence on the road, which is particularly important in a competitive league like the Championship where momentum can significantly influence results.
Daniel Farke will want his side to consolidate their spot at the top of the league and getting an early goal will give them a huge psychological boost.
Not having Byram is a blow, but it’s good for the Whites to have the services of Firpo to count on.
It remains to be seen whether or not Firpo is handed the start or is brought off the bench in the second half.
In other Leeds United news, the club have made a bold attempt to sign a Premier League player in January.
