Bielsa confirms three Leeds players out injured for clash v Everton

Marcelo Bielsa has delivered a fitness update ahead of the Leeds United game against Everton on Saturday.

The bad news is that Pablo Hernandez is still not fit to play. Diego Llorente and Jamie Shackleton are also still out injured.

The team news was delivered from the pre-match press conference by BBC journalist Adam Pope.

The rest of the Leeds squad is available to Bielsa, with no fresh injuries.

Hernandez a worry

Diego Llorente still hasn’t made his debut for Leeds and his ongoing injury problems are an issue.

However, it’s Pablo we’re more concerned about. There might be smoke without fire, but he hasn’t played since being dropped by Bielsa after a petulant reaction to getting subbed off.

Until he’s back in the squad we’re never going to be able to rest completely easily that that’s been sorted.

However, ignoring the fitness issues we’re really looking forward to the Everton game.

It’s two of the league’s best attacks and worst defences colliding and we think Everton are confident enough to come at Leeds, which will play into our hands.

Leeds fans got more bad news today when it was announced (as expected) that Elland Road wouldn’t be opening for fans with the city still in Tier 3 when lockdown ends.

The good news is that all Premier League games are being televised for free (normal subscriptions excepted) after the controversial PPV model was scrapped.

The game against Everton was always on Sky Sports, with a kick-off time of 5.30pm.

We’re expecting lots of goals and open, attacking football.
