Bielsa delivers key fitness update on Hernandez & Roberts ahead of Leeds clash v Fulham
Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has delivered a key fitness update ahead of his side’s massive face-off with Fulham on Saturday.
The big news is that Pablo Hernandez is set for a late fitness test and will be given until training tomorrow to make the game.
The really good news is that Tyler Roberts is fit and available to play on Saturday, despite speculation about an injury that he’d picked up.
The team news was posted by BBC journalist Adam Pope on Thursday lunchtime.
Hernandez missed the game against Cardiff on Sunday with what was described as a “slight niggle”.
He was due back in training on Wednesday. However, it doesn’t sound great for him now and we’d expect him only to make the bench if he figures at all.
That could see Bielsa name an unchanged line-up with Roberts fit.
Leeds have other more long-term injury problems too, with Jean-Kevin Augustin out for an unspecified time with a hamstring issue.
His loan contract expires early next week and there’s been speculation that he could return to RB Leipzig having never started for Leeds United.
Adam Forshaw is also on the mend after surgery for a hip injury. He’s aiming for an August return and is unlikely to play any part in the rest of this season.
