BBC Match of the Day man thrilled by Leeds United defender Cody Drameh footage v West Brom

Steve Wilson, a BBC Match of the Day commentator, was thrilled with Leeds United defender Cody Drameh’s assist for Birmingham’s Dion Sanderson v West Brom.

Drameh, who’s on loan at Birmingham, played an inch-perfect ball into the box which was headed home by the defender.

Sky Sports shared the footage of Sanderson’s goal on their official Twitter account.

Speaking on the EFL world feed at 20:40 on 6 October, Wilson said, “A great ball in from that man Cody Drameh. An exceptional cross. One of the assists of the season.”

Right decision?

Drameh might be a right-back by trade but is also capable of playing as a left-back.

Currently, Leeds have a bit of a crisis in that role as Junior Firpo is yet to play this season while Sam Byram is facing injury issues himself.

Drameh would’ve been ideal to play there amid the current run and it leads to doubts over whether or not the Whites made the right call to let him go on loan.

Daniel Farke will be keeping a close eye on his performances and will then decide as to whether or not he can integrate him into the first-team squad.

It truly was an unbelievable pass by the 21-year-old and he’s always shown glimpses of how good he can be.

Last season too, he played a pivotal role in guiding Luton Town to the Premier League so he’s already proven his credentials in the Championship as he did well for Cardiff City in the past as well.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that big European clubs have been keeping tabs on a Whites player for a while and are still willing to sign him.
