BBC man claims elite PL manager will be ‘nodding his head’ at Leeds ace after display v Arsenal

BBC Sport pundit Danny Murphy praised Jack Harrison in the FA Cup game against Arsenal last night and commentator Guy Mowbray said that Pep Guardiola would be “nodding his head” at his progress this season.

Harrison was a real livewire in the first half of the game, which Leeds absolutely dominated.

Leeds fell away in the second half but will have come away very satisfied with what they did at the Emirates, despite losing 1-0.

Arsenal came out a different side in the second half and won by a single goal but in the search for a defeat but a brilliant performance (and going back to focus on the Championship), 1-0 was probably the best result Leeds could have got.

Harrison impressed the Leeds fans, who called for him to play out on the right again, and he impressed both Murphy and Mowbray too.

“Harrison has looked really bright”, said Murphy on BBC1’s live coverage of the game, “mixing his game up well, coming in off the right-hand side, getting in dangerous areas, Kolasinac struggling when he gets in one-on-one situations with him.”

Mowbray said, “There’ll be a certain manager preparing for a Manchester derby tomorrow watching this and nodding his head at Jack Harrison’s performance, knowing he’s in good hands.

“As Pep Guardiola has said about Bielsa… ‘We’re judged by how much success we have, how many trophies we’ve won, but that’s much less influential than how he [Bielsa[ has influenced football and his players.”

Leeds do have an option to buy Harrison at the end of the season but this, like a lot of other things at Leeds, will ride on whether Bielsa finally gets them over the line and into the Premier League.
