Andy Hinchcliffe thrilled by Leeds winger Jack Harrison v Liverpool
Andy Hinchcliffe was left thrilled with the quality of delivery from Leeds United winger Jack Harrison in the first half against Liverpool.
The Whites winger came back into the starting XI on Monday after being ineligible against his parent club Manchester City last week.
Harrison put in a delicious ball into the box midway through the half, and it almost led to Ozan Kabak scoring an own goal to open the scoring; something the pundit labelled “horrible”.
Speaking during live coverage of the game on Sky Sports, Hinchcliffe was awestruck by the quality of delivery on show from Harrison.
“It’s a horrible ball to deal with,” he said.
“That drives Harrison in-field, he just plays it into the corridor inbetween defender and goalkeeper, you feel obliged to deal with it.
“You can’t leave it. It all came from Harrison’s delivery. Excellent.”
Beautiful.
If there is one thing that Harrison has worked on phenomenally in the past three years, it is his delivery and first touch.
The City loanee is only getting better going forward, and with more time under Marcelo Bielsa, he is becoming a dangerous proposition for any opponent in this division.
If you don’t take these chances in the Premier League though, you get punished.
Harrison was at fault for the opening goal, losing Trent Alexander-Arnold who laid the ball on a plate for Sadio Mane to tap home into an open net.
Swings and roundabouts, things like this will happen against the Premier League champions.
