Amazon set to serve up another big Leeds United production – report

Off the field, one of the most interesting bits of information that came from Elland Road on Tuesday night is that Amazon are set to serve up Season 2 of Take Us Home.

It had looked unlikely earlier in the season, with The Athletic journalist Phil Hay stating, “It remains to be seen what happens with this. It isn’t off the table completely and it might be that the coronavirus gives it the narrative and the story it needs (assuming the season actually finishes).”

It looks like that was very prescient from Hay, who reported that the Amazon cameras were back at Elland Road on Tuesday.

We were desperately hoping that a second season of Take Us Home would be produced. It didn’t feel like the ending that Leeds deserved at the finale of the 19/19 season.

This season has been unique and while it looks like it’s the one when Leeds will finally make it home, it’s been full of drama, both on the pitch and off.

It will go down in the history books for the right and wrong reason for Leeds, with fans blocked out of Elland Road and the promotion bid almost derailed by the Coronavirus outbreak.

After last night’s result, despite Brentford and Fulham winning, it still looks like Leeds will go on to provide Amazon with the happy ending it was looking for in Season One.

They have a six-point buffer in the top-two with just six games left.

And, if Leeds do get back into the Premier League, who would bet against a Season Three, with Leeds and Bielsa visiting stadiums like Anfield, and Man United coming back to Elland Road?

If you haven’t seen Season One of Take Us Home, now’s the time to catch up – all episodes are available now for free on Amazon Prime.
