'Amateur', 'Has to go', 'Liability' - Many Leeds fans tear one player to shreds at HT v Fulham

Leeds United fans have slammed Robin Koch for conceding yet another penalty in the first half against Fulham on Saturday.

Koch, 24, gifted Liverpool a spot-kick just minutes into his Leeds debut last week as the Whites lost 4-3 at Anfield.

He then did the same against Fulham by taking down Joe Bryan on the edge of his own penalty area.

It was pretty brainless by Koch, who really didn’t need to make the challenge where he was and it was totally avoidable.

The contact was minimal to be fair to him but contact is contact and it handed Aleksandar Mitrovic to score from the penalty spot – which he did.

It has not been the best starts to life at Elland Road for Koch and while there are bound to be fans out there who are sympathetic, some have taken to Twitter to slam him for his rashness in the penalty box against Fulham.

One has even gone as far to call the Germany international a “liability”.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

Normally, we would say that a new signing should be afforded some leeway due to him still getting used to playing for a new club, with a new manager, with new team-mates and in a new league.

But the penalty he conceded against Fulham wasn’t good enough and he should’ve learned from the Liverpool match that you’ll get punished for the slightest bit of ill-timed contact.

Koch will get better – we’re sure of that. But the first impression we’ve had of him couldn’t be further from the first impression we had from Ben White last season.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are in talks to sign this French midfielder.
