Alan Shearer puts ‘superb’ Raphinha and Bamford in Team of the Week
Alan Shearer has put two Leeds United players in his Premier League Team of the Week after their 3-0 win against Southampton.
Goal-scorers Patrick Bamford and Raphinha made it into his official Premier League selection, along with four West Ham players, three Everton players, one from Man City and one from Leicester.
Shearer said about Bamford, “No English player has scored more Premier League goals than Bamford this season.”
According to Shearer, Raphinha “Crowned an excellent performance with a superb free-kick.”
Carlo Ancelotti was given the manager of the week award after Everton finally won a Merseyside derby.
Man of the moment
Everyone is talking about Raphinha at the moment.
He could have had a number of assists in the game last night and fully deserved his goal at the end of the game.
It’s his attitude we love more than anything.
He looks deeply annoyed every time a move he tries doesn’t come off and is quick to show his displeasure if any of his teammates let him down.
But he puts a massive shift in as well.
At 3-0 up and in the final minutes of the game, Raphinha sprinted to close down the Southampton goalkeeper.
We think Bielsa will have loved this more than anything else he saw from Raphinha.
He seems to be the total player and is the name that every Leeds fan look for when the team is announced now.
