Alan Shearer gushes over Javi Gracia as Leeds United relegation prediction made

Alan Shearer has praised Javi Gracia for the job the Spaniard has done since taking over at Leeds United from Jesse Marsch.

The former Watford manager has not only steadied the ship but he has secured important wins in the relegation zone to get Leeds up to 13th place.

Shearer believes that Leeds should avoid relegation after seeing what a stellar job he’s done so far at Elland Road.

He said on the Premier League post-match show after the Manchester United v Brentford and West Ham v Newcastle games on 05/04 at 23:21, “They have belief in what the manager is doing. He’s doing a superb job and I feel he’s doing enough to keep them up.”

The players look like they’re playing for the manager and know just exactly what he wants from them and that’s what you want from someone who’s just taken over.

He moved to Leeds under tough circumstances and was far from the first choice option, but he is doing a really good job to audition for the role permanently.

He surely will not be thinking that far ahead but it will be on the back of his mind at least and he’ll know that the job he’s done so far will put him in good standing for it.

A win against Crystal Palace over the weekend will be massive for Leeds but they’ve got to be wary of the London outfit as they looked like a completely different team under Roy Hodgson.

They looked more attacking and he also solidified their defensive frailties, albeit for one game and they’re not going to be pushovers over the weekend.

Still, Gracia’s managed to do well at Elland Road and the hope will be to continue that run of form and pick up three more points.
