Alan Shearer has heaped praise on Leeds United’s attacking options after the 2-1 win over Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon.
The Whites dominated the Yorkshire derby, but missed plenty of chances and needed Phil Jagielka’s own goal to secure the points.
Tyler Roberts and Jack Harrison played huge roles in the winning goal though, with Shearer labelling both of them as nightmares for defenders.
Speaking after the game live on Amazon Prime, Shearer was full of praise for the attacking trio behind Patrick Bamford.
“The pass from Roberts is sensational,” he said.
“Then the touch is brilliant and the cross has just got danger written all over it. If Jagielka doesn’t get there, then Raphinha is there to tap it in.
“It’s a nightmare for the defender.”
Marcelo Bielsa has completely transformed this club, and Sheffield United simply couldn’t handle that today at Elland Road.
If there was more of a clinical streak from the Whites, it would have been a humiliating defeat for the Blades; it should have been.
Roberts, Raphinha and Harrison were all superb, but surprisingly it was a quiet afternoon for Patrick Bamford, who could still be feeling the effects of his recent injury.
Thankfully, his attacking teammates were on song today and he can thank them after the clash as Leeds cruised into the top half of the Premier League yet again.
It was our first league double over Sheffield United in 30 years, and these two certainly played a huge part in that.
