Adam Underwood may deserve ‘immediate pay rise’ despite Leeds rage before win vs Wolves
Adam Underwood has received some rare praise at Leeds United.
Leeds beat Wolves 3-1 on Saturday afternoon, in a result that has massively shifted the general feeling among the Whites faithful.
Leeds’ defeat to Fulham sparked concern, though a lot of that frustration had already been building up at Elland Road.
The Whites’ struggles in the latter stages of the window led to supporters raging at Underwood and co, though after the latest triumph against Wolves, one journalist thinks he should be in for a pay rise.

Anton Stach shines again for Leeds United
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will take the headlines for Leeds, and perhaps deservedly so given his role in the emphatic victory over Wolves.
However, Anton Stach’s long-range strike for Leeds saw him lauded by many.
Stach became the first Premier League player since Kalvin Phillips to score their first Premier League goal from a free kick, and has already showcased his ability as a top player at this level.
Stach’s stats vs Wolves
- 72% pass accuracy
- One chance created
- One goal scored from 0.08 xG
- Six defensive duels won
The man who likely found him? Underwood, and Daily Mail journalist Tom Collomosse believe he should be in line for a pay rise for unearthing him.
He said: “Whoever at Leeds identified Anton Stach deserves an immediate pay rise. Bought from Hoffenheim for £17.5m, the 26-year-old midfielder was magnificent.”
It was a superb piece of business, but given Underwood’s previous failures, it’s a far-fetched statement.

Leeds have struck gold with Anton Stach
It wasn’t just his goal that earned him praise against Wolves, but his all-around performance at Molineux.
Stach was excellent in every area of the pitch, and his ability to find the net from distance is just one of his many attributes that Leeds need to take advantage of more often.
It was his only shot in the game, showcasing what the Whites could achieve if they could unleash him in front of goal more often.
Underwood deserves his praise for this one, but there will need to be far more arrivals of the same stature for anything to go further.
