'Absolutely shocking', 'Shouldn't be in the team' – Some Leeds fans slam player despite 2-0 win

Leeds made hard work of Hull City tonight.

To be fair to the visitors, they were a lot better than we were expecting, but this was a poor performance overall from Leeds in cold, windy weather at Elland Road.

The first half was only notable for sloppiness from Leeds, with the ball in the final third particularly bad.

That continued into the second half, with Helder Costa finishing off a decent move, only to be flagged offside.

The bulk of Leeds fans wanted Eddie Nketiah to come on but tonight wasn’t his night.

Gjanni Alioski came on for Jack Harrison and eventually, a goal came. Champions win ugly and that was certainly the case today, when Jordy De Wijs put through his own net after a poor cross from Helder Costa.

One player who really didn’t have a good night was the wizard, Pablo Hernandez.

He’s been so good for Leeds and so consistent that it really stands out when he has a bad game – and plenty of Leeds fans noticed the same tonight.

In the end, it didn’t matter. Alioski proved Bielsa right by finishing a devastating counter-attack late on to make it seven wins in a row.

The last two games have both been 2-0 wins and they’ve both showed that Leeds can win even when they’re off the boil.

That’s the form of champions and they not only went top tonight but increased the buffer to 11 points back to third, with Fulham losing again.

All in all, a very good night’s work but there were quite a few moans about Hernandez…
