Aaronson must be hooked at HT after what he has done in Hull City v Leeds United

Daniel Farke has no other option but to replace Brenden Aaronson during the half-time break if Leeds United are to beat Hull City on Saturday.

The Whites were handed an early blow in the first 45 minutes as Abu Kamara gave the home side the lead on 4 January, lofting the on-rushing Illan Meslier in the fifth minute.

While many fans will be calling for the goalkeeper to be replaced, with Karl Darlow waiting in the wings, Leeds have had more than enough chances to even up the score.

However, they have not been taken by the likes of Joel Piroe, Manor Solomon and Dan James, but it is Aaronson who must be sacrificed if the league leaders are to overturn the one-goal deficit.

It seems harsh to say, given he scored the winning goal against Derby County before helping his side to a 1-1 draw against Blackburn Rovers, but he has failed to impress at the MKM Stadium so far.

Wilfried Gnonto is ready to strike in Hull City v Leeds United

Wilfried Gnonto has struggled for game time in recent weeks, with his teammates managing to out-perform him in the final third, but he must be called upon this time.

The 21-year-old has four goals and five assists in 25 appearances so far this term, making him one of the most dangerous attackers at Elland Road, yet he is still on the bench against the Tigers.

Farke also has Largie Ramazani and Mateo Joseph at his disposal, and if the German waits too long to make changes, much like he is accused of, it could be another defeat on the road.

With promotion to the Premier League on the mind for the Whites, Farke has to make some very difficult decisions when not all is going his way, and this is certainly one of those moments.

While Aaronson has netted seven league goals this season, he is often wasteful in front of goal, needing multiple efforts before the net bulges, and that is exactly what is happening on Saturday afternoon.

Sadly, the American cannot afford that luxury at the MKM Stadium, meaning Farke has to take action and replace him with someone who is more clinical in front of goal.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites want to sign a Championship team’s star name, with a bid being readied.
