Paul Bell has become the latest high-level figure to leave Leeds United after he has decided to quit his role as executive director.

The Whites announced in a statement on their website on Wednesday (18 October) that he has decided to "pursue new opportunities" having previously led the commercial operations for nine years at Elland Road.

Bell follows former owner Andrea Radrizzani as well as directors Sandro Mencucci and Massimo Marinelli out of the door after their exits from the club were confirmed on Companies House on 12 October.

New era

This is very much the start of a new era for Leeds after 49ers Enterprises takeover was confirmed on Companies House on Tuesday (16 October).

While Bell's departure appears to have been made on the back of a decision made by himself, this could be part of a process in which the new owners want to go in a different direction.

The Whites did add in their statement that he will continue his association with the club by acting as a consultant during a transitionary period at Elland Road.

After there were many failings throughout the latter stages of Radrizzani's tenure, it's no surprise that the 49ers group is looking to shape the Whites in the way it deems necessary to take the club forward.

As long as this helps the West Yorkshire club act in a more sustainable manner while performing well on the pitch, then the fans will be more than happy to let the new owners make those calls.
