Dean Ashton was left blown away by Leeds United star Wilfried Gnonto in the 1-1 draw against Norwich City on Tuesday (1 October).

The Whites could only manage a draw on the road at Carrow Road as an early Josh Sargent penalty was cancelled out by a well-taken Largie Ramazani leveller.

It wasn't the best of performances but a point is a point and there were some positives to take away such as Gnonto, who looked dangerous throughout.

Speaking on BBC Radio Norfolk, transcribed by BBC Sport [1 October, 9:22pm], the former Canaries striker Ashton was left impressed by the Italy international on the night.

He said: "So elusive is Gnonto, tonight he has been absolutely terrific. He is involved in everything good for Leeds going forward."

It was a classic Championship clash against the Canaries with it being like a basketball game at times with both sides having their chances.

The Whites did look the better of the two sides and showed that with their possession but failed to truly make it count at Carrow Road with the likes of Mateo Joseph struggling.

The best chance of the first half for the away side was carved out by Gnonto, who came in from the right-hand side and fired towards goal but could only hit the post.

This came after falling one goal behind, which only added to the frustration in the early stages.

With that being said, the 20-year-old had a telling impact for the equaliser as he fed Ramazani to pick out the bottom corner with a precise effort.

Despite not picking up all three points, Daniel Farke can be pleased with his side against his former employers with Gnonto especially looking positive on the night.
