Leeds United ace Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be gunning for Manchester United this Sunday.

The Whites are preparing to host their cross-Pennines rivals at Elland Road in a mouth-watering Premier League contest.

Leeds are being tipped by many as favourites for the clash on home soil against their fierce rivals.

Daniel Farke's men have enjoyed a solid season thus far, albeit it their unbeaten league start came to an end in a 2-1 loss to Arsenal last time out.

By contrast, Man United travel to West Yorkshire as a side in disarray with the pressure growing on Michael Carrick.

Peter Schmeichel was previewing the game on the Overlap Daily on Friday, and explain why he doesn't think Calvert-Lewin gets enough credit.

Why Peter Schmeichel is a big fan of Leeds United ace Calvert-Lewin

Calvert-Lewin has been a huge success since joining Leeds in the summer of 2025 when his contract at Everton expired.

The 29-year-old scored 15 goals in all competitions last season, earning a recall to the England squad but missing out on World Cup selection.

However, with four goals in six games across all competitions this term, he was brought into the England fold again for the last international break.

Former Man United goalkeeper Schmeichel is a big fan of what Calvert-Lewin brings away from just scoring goals, though.

Indeed, it is work of the ball that makes the Dane think Calvert-Lewin is one of the top-flight's most underrated performers.

Speaking on the Overlap Daily, he said: "Calvert-Lewin's playing up front, I think he's probably one of the most underrated strikers.

"It's not like he's scoring 25, but the work he puts in, the space he's creating for other players, his runs are so good, he's giving every defender a problem. He's a handful to play against."

The one thing Man United could do that would disappoint Leeds ace Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Leeds fans know what they've got in Calvert-Lewin

If anyone is still underrating how good Calvert-Lewin is then, frankly, more fool them.

Calvert-Lewin is one of the best marksmen in the Premier League.

He is a goalscoring threat, but what he brings to the team in terms of his link-up play, aerial prowess, and work-rate makes him invaluale.

You can just sense that Calvert-Lewin will be bang up for the game against the Red Devils this weekend, and put his name in the history of this famous fixture.
